Peninsula, has been educating the next generation of world-class chefs in its Award winning Culinary & Wine Institute for the past 12 years. To effectively teach these young chefs, Niagara College requires a sophisticated audio/visual culinary kitchen lab that enhances and improves the overall learning experience.

Trusted with designing, installing, and servicing the audio/visual system in the 200-seat, sloped floor auditorium that houses the Culinary & Wine Institutes “Living Lab” industrial kitchen learning facility, Design Electronics provided a robust and reliable system that could live-up to the demands of a working kitchen. Enhancing the functionality of the of the system, several heavy-duty buttons are strategically placed throughout the kitchen area, enabling the instructor to switch cameras and views, and initiate Crestron programming that provides preset zoom, tilt, and pan capabilities, offering close, tight views of the instructor and predetermined zones, ensuring that the proper technique is being projected to the entire auditorium.

Additional sources, including video, presentation, and online content, can be streamed through the projection and audio systems offering innovative possibilities that transcend the multiple platform and interactive audiovisual content, providing an interesting and engaging learning experience.

Optimized to effectively provide complete coverage for the medium-sized auditorium, the audio system designed and provided by Design Electronics has been fine-tuned for speech intelligibility as well as additional content streamed throughout the system.
